I hope everyone has a wonderful, happy, safe, and delicious Christmas! I’m heading home to PA where homemade German cookies and sweet breads await me! Yum! Here are some fun (and funny) vintage cards to get you in the Christmas spirit:

California photography

23Dec

Anyone who is in the San Francisco area is lucky because the SFMoMA is holding an exhibition beginning 16 January to June titled, “The View from Here“:
sfmoma exhibtion4

“Just as photography has been instrumental in shaping California’s popular image, the state — and San Francisco, in particular — has played a key role in the history of photography as an art form.”

From Ansel Adams and Dorthea Lange to Henry Wessel, it’s a collection of photographs of California’s historical and present image. ( I apologize for the small images but this is only what I could find on their website)

Knits for kicks

22Dec

I do enjoy knitting in the wintertime although I need to start learning how to knit in a curved/round fashion. Right now I can only knit straight things. That leaves to me scarves.

Anyway, once I do graduate from knitting 101 at some point, I’d love to start making these fun designs:

Or to make sure no one throws away your water bottle, you can jazz it up with this intimidating shark cozy:

Love these fingerless gloves with their cute buttons from homelab:

Oh and I’d love to learn the cable knit style as well like this beautiful scarf:

Chalkboard uses for the holidays

21Dec

I completely agree with re-nest on their feature of the many different and reusable uses for chalkboard paint, including the holidays!

heart of light chalkboard tagsHeart of Light‘s gift tags found on etsy look so pretty packaged up with some ribbon.

Having a holiday dinner party? Use these tags as name place cards ( You can even try drawing a winter scene or some snowflakes on it)

Happy Friday!

18Dec

Is everyone in the Northeast getting ready for some snow? I know I’m getting excited (When my dog was younger, he’d go crazy like this out in the snow!)

There’s just something about being cozy inside and lazily gazing at the Christmas tree while it’s snowing and blowing outside.

Sparkles

17Dec

Some new finds at Moxsie, an independent one-woman retailer in San Fransisco, like this honeycomb necklace made from bamboo:

And these cloud earrings are definitely something I’d wear. I mean, they resemble my website design, it’s perfect!

Holiday treasures

16Dec

(I apologize for the lack of post yesterday — things have been really busy with me lately!)

Jenny Bland‘s handmade spun ornaments are everything but bland:

il_430xN.108980426And you can wrap these little reindeer up with fun holiday masking tape from Present & Correct:
