Tooth Fairy kit

16Sep

With some dentists in my family, my eye is always catching anything “teethy” (sorry Sarah, I know that’s not a word). So I saw these tooth fairy kits on paper crave and they look so fun. It’s gocco printed and hand cut too!

big-1big-2bigA chart of progress, fairy business cards…it even comes with fairy dust! You can buy it online here at paper and stitch.

Sigwalt manual

14Sep

sigwalt manual

A kind individual scanned and posted a link for the original Sigwalt manual on Briarpress the other day. It actually doesn’t have much on how to take care of your Sigwalt — it’s pretty general with lots of type specimens. However, it is pretty cool to finally see an instructional piece for a Sigwalt! Plus, it’s a nice piece for printing in general. I especially love this intro page:

“Start early! Have you ever figured how many millionaires started in life as amateur printers?” Ha, love it. You can download it here.

My Sigwalt has been neglected lately due to a full-time job and a full-time crazy weekend schedule. I haven’t forgotten you though, Sigwalt! I’m itching to get it rolling again…

A romantic sound

A. Favorite designs with their letterpress postcards of the “original laptop” aka typewriter:

A. favorite designs letterpress studio states that “one of the most romantic sounds is the click clacking of typewriter keys”. I quite agree.  So is the chiming click of a platen turning on a press.  ;)

Letterpress poem

09Sep

Remember awhile back when I gave you a tantalizing sneak peek of a letterpress piece?

detailWell, it’s finally been given to the recipient so here’s the full reveal!

letterpress poemletterpress poemOne of my special peeps graduated from a Master’s degree in creative writing and poetry, so as a gift, I printed one of her poems with letterpress and framed it. I loved how the calming grays and blue turned out too. ( I need to take better photos — this setting was dusk and was too dark. Just was excited to share with you all!)
