It’s Easter weekend so we’ll be heading up to PA for the family festivities! Next week is busy and I’m excited to get back on the press: custom wedding invitations, Mother’s Day cards and personalized stationery (featuring a bear with glasses!)…
In case you missed it… my letterpress work was featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper the other day! It truly made my week and made me feel a little giddy since I’ve been following Nole’s blog for years. :)
Happy weekend campers!

I always want animals helping me find my place or holding together my very most important documents, don’t you? (Especially the cat faces!)

I love sandals — it’s that ”I’m almost not wearing anything on my feet” feel where the breeze goes thru your toes…But it hasn’t been quite warm enough for me to break out sandals…and with this next week not looking good… I’m getting antsy! I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite strappy sandals that I would love love love to wear this spring (except no. 6 — aptly named “Laura” but forgetting that I’m 5’10″ without any footwear. So as much as I love you wedge, I can’t be a tower).

Because I need more stuff to pile in my tiny studio…AND…for Eastern Market on the weekends and other shows! I love my new spinning card rack. It will display the cards much more nicely and also will grab passing eyes more quickly. Plus I look legit now. :)
Now here’s the question: Should I spray paint it a fun, bright color?

This weekend I’ll be at a craft show in my little hometown in PA with these new Moravian star cards… then hopefully relaxing a bit with the family and doggies for the rest of the weekend.
Have a happy weekend!

We’ve lately been ignoring our interior space in terms of design. I think it all started when we got Bandit and up went the oriental rugs (laid them back down a litttle too soon as now we have some missing tassels) and a large dog crate in the room has become the new “catch all” table. Oh what we do for animals.
But now that Bandit is settling down a bit more to our home and Spring has rejuvenated me, I’m getting excited again to work on our space. Do some treasure hunting.
I’ve got a bunch of inspiration ideas on my Pinterest, but I thought I’d share a few of my absolute faves and why I want to live in them:

I love travel. And I love collecting pieces from all over the world and bringing them home. There’s meaning and memories attached to them so I love being surrounded and reminded by them.

Oriental rugs and international textiles. I grew up with oriental rugs being all over the house and have even “inherited” one. The more worn, the cozier (thanks Bandit!). I just feel they add such a richness but also a comfy, settled feeling (don’t get me wrong, they can look stuffy in some spaces). Plus, there’s that international vibe you know I love.

Vintage decor and furniture. Also grew up with pretty much nothing new in our home which has influenced me in my design. Again, there’s something real and unique about it. They made pretty good stuff back then. No one can go out to Target and have the same home as you do. It has a history. Plus… it’s like the ultimate recycling.

Casual: Rough woods, natural elements, organic textures, no frills – except those awesome tassels (how many times can I use tassels in this post??). This is the last piece of the design puzzle which is a must. There’s no room for stuffiness; I like being cozy in my home.
Pretty much West Elm and I have got the same vibe goin’ on right now. The April catalog arrived and each page was like “yes, yes, yes, I want”:

Bold but natural — South African plant photography.

Clean but a bit rough (and recycled!) : Salvaged wood open shelving

And some accessory pieces from their new collection that I’d love… {1. terra cotta side table 2. zig-zag placemats 3. butter dish 4. seaside vases 5. handwoven planters 6. sea glass containers }

Aren’t these fun? Typography + Maps = love for me.
And I found a DIY on it! And you can go beyond maps…decorative paper, wallpaper, wrapping paper, newspaper…although, I do love me a good map.
