I’m off to the Christmas Market in PA for my first show. I have my sign ready (temporary sign that I made out of paper…), cards, tags… it’ll be a simple display since I only had about a week to figure it out and get things ready, but sometimes simple is good, right?
PS. I’ll be tweeting some photos and updates throughout too!

Just wanted to show our first tree together! It didn’t take us long to find it at the Christmas tree lot. We like it. My sad little tree skirt needs some help though. I think I want to make one for next year. Soft white with pom poms maybe. This is just gray felt left over from when I was a shark for Halloween.
Oh and here’s the easiest DIY ornament ever. Since we didn’t have many ornaments and a lot of time to make many, we bought some clear ornaments at ACMoore and some red floral wire (the basic green stuff would work too). We then just stuffed the floral wire inside. That’s it. It comes out to be a crazy wire design which looks pretty cool!

We decked the halls this weekend and as I mentioned in an earlier post, I wanted to make a terrarium, so I did!
I had this dear red-felt deer that was perfect so I just built around him. I bought some reindeer moss at ACMoore and gathered some pine cones and pine branches from outside. I then spray painted the pine cones with a gold metallic paint, assembled, and voila! Simple and easy. And a little cute.

So my husband and I are celebrating our first Christmas together in our home (when I say home, I mean our 800 sq. ft. apartment). Yesterday I started pulling all of our holiday decorations out to see what we’ve collected in the past.
Apparently, we’ve been Grinchs because we’ve got nothin’. Nothing except four ornaments: two of which are bears and one that says “Happy Camper” on it (the fourth one: a plush sheep). And a sassy red felt deer figurine. Basically we’re starting from scratch. (And I may have an animal problem?)
Starting from scratch can be exciting though — How should we decorate? Especially since we don’t have a fireplace, we don’t have stairs and we don’t have outdoor space. But we do have a giant terrarium (hello red felt deer under glass).

How do you decorate? Classic? Modern?
I definitely want to do some DIYs (maybe even do a real DIY post on here!). I love the creative, modern holiday decor but I think what I’d like to do is bring nature in. So pinecones, tree branches, fir sprigs, etc.
Like this room…love the fir branches in the glass vessels and the moss covered candles.

Or like this tree branch with ornaments…seems easy enough, right?
I do like to add in some bling though…I think West Elm does a good job with that:

Find pinecones in your backyard, spray paint them with metallic paint and voila!
Or, you can take an old figurine that you find at a yard sale or something and do the same thing…spray paint it with metallic (or white or any other snazzy color) and it instantly becomes pretty.

I’ll be posting more holiday decoration ideas I’m sure, some DIYs… maybe I’ll start a board on my Pinterest or something for some more inspiration. And send me ideas if you have any!

Thank you so much for the overwhelming response here and on Facebook about the launch of Bears Eat Berries. It means the world!

I’ve been printing up a storm lately, using lots of green and red (getting ready!)…

…and gold. (yes, there is a piece of glass between the ink and my wooden table…)
